The Jurassic Coast Challenge is coming back to raise some vital funds for Weldmar Hospicecare.

The team at the charity is delighted to be organising a live fundraiser after more than a year of online, virtual events.

The pandemic closed all of Weldmar's charity shops and cancelled its events, which meant it missed out on much-needed funds to allow the team to provide vital end of life services.

The Jurassic Coast Challenge will be taking place on Sunday, September 26 and walkers can chose to take in the coastline's break-taking views for 13 miles or 26 miles.

See famous landmarks such as Durdle Door, Worbarrow Bay and Old Harry Rocks and take on the challenge with friends, family, individually or even get a team together from your workplace or organisation.

Event organiser Alaine Harman said: "We have very much missed seeing our fundraisers and supporters at our events over the past year, and are very excited to be able to announce that the Jurassic Coast Challenge is back this year.

"We, of course, all hope that Covid restrictions will be much lighter by then, but this event is out in the fresh air and social distancing can be easily managed with groups setting off in phases if necessary.

'Whether you would like to walk to remember a loved one, to support Weldmar after a tough year, or even just to take on the challenge, we are looking forward to seeing you with your walking boots on and ready to take on the Jurassic Coast Challenge this September."

The 26-mile trekkers will start at the iconic Durdle Door and walk along the Jurassic coastline towards Worth Matravers where they will be joined by the 13-mile trekkers to the finish line a Studland.

Well-earned celebratory refreshments will be waiting a walkers can take a load off with a glass of fizz and a pasty while they collect their medal.

Volunteers are also needed for the event.
