West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is bringing back Weymouth Octoberfest after a two-year break.

The popular event will take place in Weymouth Pavilion Ocean Room on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8.

The festival is now in its 11th year at the pavilion and has got more popular as the years have passed with earlier festivals being in the Time Walk at Brewers Quay.

This year's festival will showcase more than 60 cask ales and ciders, all from Dorset brewers and cider producers. Customers can expect some of their favourite cask ales and ciders alongside festival specials and one-off brews.

Rich Gabe, CAMRA bar manager and co-organiser, said: "We were sad that due to the pandemic and uncertainty of 2021 we were unable to bring Weymouth its sell-out festival.

"So, this year as a mark of respect to how our Dorset breweries coped with the pandemic and to show our continuing support to our amazing award-winning brewers, it was time to showcase their finest beers and ciders.

"We intend to have beer from every Dorset brewery that currently and regularly brews cask ale. This will be a golden opportunity for Dorset brewers to be creative and highlight their best brews - it's time to raise a glass and drink Dorset."

Tickets are now on sale from the Convivial Rabbit in Trinity Street, the Royal Portland Arms pub, The Globe, Doghouse and Chalbury Food and Wine in Weymouth and Weymouth Pavilion box office.

Saturday evening will welcome The Britpop Band, who will take to the stage to play covers of music from the heyday of the Britpop 90s era. Expect to hear songs from the likes of Oasis, Blur, Cast and Supergrass to name but a few.
