Friday: Fizz Friday at Langham Vineyard
An evening of Dorset cheese and charcuterie with live music from Fleur Lindsay at Langham Vineyard,near Dorchester, on Friday, May 19.
Come along and enjoy the perfect combination of cured meats and Dorset cheese. All local produce has been hand-crafted and lovingly made for your enjoyment, accompanied with the perfect grazing foods for you to eat at your pace whilst listening to the wonderful voice of Fleur Lindsay.
Friday: Tim Kliphuis Trio
Founded in 2006 after meeting in a small Russian cultural café in Glasgow called Café Cossachok, the Tim Kliphuis Trio are one of the world’s top string groups, combining jaw-dropping virtuosity and mesmerizing improvisations with a beautifully varied repertoire sourced from classical music, gypsy jazz and folk.
Performing at Dorchester Corn Exchange from 8pm on Friday, May 19.
Saturday: Dorchester Euro Cafe
A friendly, social event for people who you love Europe and believe that the UK should re-join the European Union. Come along for coffee, cake and conversation with people who think like you, from 3pm to 5pm at the Vivo Lounge in Brewery Square.
Sunday: Beating of the Bounds
Join in with this fun Dorchester Walking Festival finale on Sunday, May 21 at 4pm 4pm, meeting at the Roman Town House, Dorchester.
The Beating of the Bounds is an ancient tradition in which congregations would walk around the boundaries of each parish on Ascension Day, noting any changes. It was a time to bless the crops and the farmers who work the land.
Bring pots and pans, drums, rattles and other noisy implements to mark the occasion and be prepared for some surprises along the way.
