Woodsford Castle near Dorchester will be opening its doors to the public as part of Heritage Open Days.
The building is the surviving part of a 14th century castle and is thought to have the largest thatched roof in Dorset.
The Woodsford Castle there today dates from 1370-90 and was probably added to an existing group of buildings. Now it is owned by the Landmark Trust and you can find more information about it here.
The castle will be open on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, Spetember 12 from 10a, to 4pm. Entry is free but you must pre-book a slot, which can be done here
Information sheets and children's activity packs will be available.
