The proposed increase to the precept - the element of a monthly council tax bill that funds policing - will enable Dorset Police to deliver a balanced budget, pay for additional costs and recruit new officers.

A village site in Martinstown could be used for a Forest School if Dorset Council grant planning permission.
An application has been submitted for a paddock south of Grove Hill Dairy, Grove Hill, Martinstown. It asks for a wooden shelter for use as a Forest School on the site known locally as Hob's Bottom. Access to the site will be via a farm track.
