Dorchester town councillors will not object to proposals to convert part of a former builder's merchant site into serviced apartments – let out for short-term stays.
They say there is a need in the town for properties which are available for a few weeks, or periods shorter than the minimum for most letting agreements.

Dorchester's Brewery Square is celebrating the Euros 2020 final with a free football-themed afternoon for families on Sunday (July 11).
Between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, attendees can enjoy some free prosecco tasters from Morrish and Banham, and beer tasters from Copper Street Brewery. England flag cupcakes will also be available from YCs Café, alongside England flag face painting, courtesy of Pixie-Paint Face Painting.

Cases continue to increase across Dorset but remain lower than the England average.
Public Health Dorset reports there are 365 confirmed cases in the Dorset Council area, compared to 262 on July 2, and 936 cases in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council area, compared to 584 on July 2.
