Miranda Sykes: The Farmhouse Sessions Tour

Dorchester Corn Exchange

UNTIL Friday 18th March

Since 2004 Miranda has been best known for her collaboration with Show of Hands but has toured with other bands, in duos, as a soloist and even fronting her own band. She has been 'on the road' for 25 years since the age of seventeen.

The Covid 19 Pandemic, despite the horror of the uncertainty and sadness it brought, also offered a time of reflection whilst 'normal' life ground to a halt and spawned a new way for many to access live music – through the internet.

Performing three-weekly concerts on Facebook between chemotherapy cycles for breast cancer became a lifeline for Miranda, reminding her of her own identity during a dark time. It also became a lifeline for many people who were unable to leave their homes to enjoy the music they love. Because of these concerts, Miranda decided to record a CD at home and ask her online audience to choose the songs to be featured on it.

The Farmhouse Sessions covers the whole of Miranda's career and is a celebration of life and love in all its forms.

This tour is an opportunity for her to bring these beautiful songs to life on stage and use her voice to spread hope and happiness for all our futures.
