Some of the offices in Poundbury's Hammick House could be converted into eight flats.

A planning application submitted to Dorset Council for the Bridport Road property proposes part conversion of offices into eight self-contained flats - six two-bedroom and two three-bedroom.

Two flats will be on the ground floor, with two offices retained, with the other six on the first floor, with the loss of four offices.

The application form states: "All habitable rooms benefit from natural daylight from the existing office windows. All living/dining/kitchen spaces benefit from at least two windows."

Thirteen car parking spaces will be used for the flats - eight of which will be allocated, three unallocated and two for visitors - with four spaces retained for the remaining offices.

Dorchester Town Council has no objection to the plans and Dorset Council environmental services has no comment on the proposals.

Comments on this application are open until January 16 and can be made here.
