The Great Big Green Week will be kicking off in Dorchester this week with businesses, groups and homeowners taking part.

From September 18 to 26, events will be taking place, with businesses also offering discounts.

Down To Earth health food shop is offering discount days with different foods featured on different days. This will take place from September 20 to 26.

Vibes vegan café will also be offering a 10 per cent discount to customers on September 21 and 23.

Dorchester Repair Café, a monthly community event offering tools, materials and specialist help to fix broken household items and save them from landfill, will be operating at Sunninghill Community Hall on September 26 from 10am to 12noon.

Bring broken items to be fixed by volunteers, have a chat, have a coffee or just watch the repairers at work.

Poundbury Community Farm will be holding an open day on September 18. It will be an opportunity to see the Transition Town Dorchester farm and orchard and there will also be apple pressing in the orchard. Bring a small bottle to take away some freshly prepared apple juice.

Homes will be open as part of Dorset Greener Open Homes where the public can see ways in which to live a greener lifestyle.
