Dorset Food and Arts Festival returns to Poundbury in a 'lite' format

The Dorset Food and Arts Festival-'lite' will be coming to Poundbury next month.

Championing the best of Dorset and showcasing local food, drink, art, craft and community talent, the free market will return on Saturday, August 7 from 10am to 4pm on the Great Field.

There will be more than 45 stalls for people to browse, although due to Covid, there will be no live music or cookery demonstrations.

"Dorset Food and Arts - Lite is our take on this much-loved annual event, held on the Saturday closest to the Queen mother's birthday.

"The pandemic means we've had to rethink our offer, so we'll be following a slightly different path this year, which means no live music or cookery demonstrations, but we hope to encourage a few 'gentle' buskers to give the pop-up shopping and trading experience a chilled vibe.

"We expect to return to the festival's natural home - Queen Mother Square - next year, but the Great Field will allow us more space to operate safely and socially distance if things aren't back to a 'new normal' by August.

"We will keep you posted if things change, but we really hope the local community and staycationers will come and support this much-loved festival market-lite for 2021.

"We can't wait to see you on Saturday, August 7."
