Joe Stilgoe will perform at The Hardye Theatre in Dorchester this week

Calling all music and musical theatre lovers! The incomparable Joe Stilgoe and his trio of musicians are in Dorchester this week, performing at the county town's new venue, the Hardye Theatre, at Thomas Hardye School.

If you love theatre, Joe and his band are just the thing to chase away the winter blues and put a spring in your step.

His 100 Years of Theatre show celebrates the great music of theatre - Kurt Weill, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Lowe, Pasek & Paul, Sondheim, Gershwin, and everything in between!

Joe's arrangements recreate the drama, tension, heartache and heartbreak of the greatest music from theatre over the last century.

Joe is a real romantic, so expect love songs and swoonsome harmonies, but also wordplay, swordplay, virtuosic musicianship, fizzing interaction with the audience and the kind of spontaneity that will leave you whistling songs you didn't even think you knew.

There will even be a world record attempt to play the most musicals in five minutes! It's the perfect Valentines gift for the music lover in your life.

100 Years of Theatre will be held at The Hardye Theatre tomorrow (Thursday, February 16) at 8pm.

Tickets are just £22 (£20 concessions) and are available to book via Dorchester Arts here.
