NATIONWIDE in Dorchester is asking to install a defibrillator and bleed‑kit cabinet on the outside of its High West Street branch.
A listed building application has been lodged with Dorset Council and is now open to public comments.
The proposal is one of many the building society is making across Dorset and further afield as part of its public commitments to the communities it is based in.
The application can be viewed on the council's website, using reference P/LBC/2026/0205.
Nearby at 33A South Street an advertisement application, P/ADV/2026/01646, seeks to retain an illuminated fascia sign already in place for Subway.
Listed building matters also feature in another town centre property, at 4 Cornhill, where application P/LBC/2026/01957 proposes the installation of ventilation and structural support to timber beams within the basement of the property which is owned by the William Williams charity and is currently used by the British Heart Foundation.
Residential extensions form a significant part of the latest domestic submissionsn- At 15 Mountain Ash Road, DT1 2PB, application P/HOU/2026/01243 seeks permission to erect a first‑floor flat‑roof rear extension, alongside upgrading the existing ground‑floor flat roof.
A larger domestic scheme has been put forward at 5 Mistover Close, Dorchester DT1 2EQ, where P/HOU/2026/01503 proposes two‑storey side and rear extensions, as well as a new entrance porch, with the existing garage to be demolished.
Meanwhile, at 28 Dagmar Road, Dorchester DT1 2NA, application P/HOU/2026/01923 outlines plans to raise the wall on the boundary‑side conservatory elevation, extend the monopitch roof across the footprint, and install four roof lights.
