Latest Dorchester rural area planning applications

SPORT and fitness feature among recent planning applications in the villages around Dorchester.
At Affpuddle Manor, application P/LBC/2026/01939 seeks listed building consent for the conversion of a redundant stable building to a home office and gym, to be used ancillary to the main dwelling.
A larger leisure‑related scheme appears in Martinstown, where P/FUL/2026/00478 proposes the installation of a tennis court at West End House, along with a change of use to a small part of the adjacent field. The application would extend the residential curtilage to accommodate the court and its associated use.
Several applications focus on additional living space. In Winfrith Newburgh, P/HOU/2026/01449 seeks permission for a single‑storey garden annexe at 4 Shilling Plot, providing ancillary accommodation within the property's grounds. A similar domestic expansion is proposed at 1 Poxwell Cottages, where P/HOU/2026/01487 outlines an extension to an ancillary building within the rear grounds.
In East Knighton, P/PALH/2026/01349 has been submitted for a single‑storey rear extension at 2 Gibraltar Cottages. The plans specify an extension projecting 3.50 metres beyond the original rear wall, with a maximum height of 3.25 metres and eaves at 2.20 metres, falling under the prior approval process for larger home extensions.
Crossways has also seen a domestic proposal, with P/HOU/2026/01844 seeking permission for a garden office in the front garden of 24 Dick O' Th' Banks Road.
In Charminster, P/HOU/2026/00682 proposes a first‑floor side extension and a new main entrance porch at 6 Pound Close.
Renewable energy also features among the submissions. At Metford Mill, Cattistock, P/HOU/2026/02154 seeks permission to install 14 solar panels on the south‑facing roof of a wooden stable block, along with a 10kWh battery in an adjacent implement shed. .
Application P/FUL/2026/02102 has been submitted for Dewlish House, proposing the erection of a summerhouse and the formation of a boundary wall within the grounds of the historic property.
