Changes proposed in rural area

BARN conversions and a range of home improvements are among the latest batch of planning applications submitted to Dorset Council for rural communities surrounding Dorchester.
At Home Farm, Wraxall Lane, Chilfrome, DT2 0HA, an application (P/FUL/2026/01280) seeks permission for the conversion of barns into two homes.
A proposal at Troytown Farm, Troytown, Dorchester DT2 8QF (P/HABR/2026/01042) is for a Regulation 77 Habitats Regulation submission, requesting a change of use and conversion of an agricultural building to one home, linked to a prior approval application (P/PAAC/2024/06153).
Listed building consent is being sought at Crown Farm, Duck Street, Hilton DT11 0DQ under P/LBC/2026/00855, where plans propose the installation of new stairs and a utility roof.
In Maiden Newton, The Corn Store, Dorchester Road, Maiden Newton DT2 0BG is the subject of application P/HOU/2026/00940, seeking approval to erect a two‑storey rear extension.
Energy efficiency improvements are proposed at Manor Cottage, Manor Farm, Long Bredy DT2 9HW (P/CLP/2026/01179), where the applicant intends to install 16 solar panels on the south‑facing roof.
