The A35 between Bridport and Dorchester has reopened.

The road was closed both ways from Long Bredy Hut to Winterbourne Abbas due to a crash.

Police, along with Dorchester and Bridport fire crews responded to the incident.

A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "Both Bridport appliances along with Dorchester Fire Station, the ambulance service, the air ambulance and the police were mobilised to a three vehicle RTC on the A35 at the junction to Long Bredy.

"On arrival crews carried out scene safety and casualty care. Once ambulance crews were on scene, casualty details were handed over and a rescue plan was put in place.

"One casualty who was medically trapped was released using hydraulic rescue equipment and taken by land ambulance to hospital.

"The road remained closed for a short time whilst police carried out their investigation."
