Update

A35 Dorchester Road Westbound re-opened, earlier accident investigation work from Long Bredy turn off (Kingston Russell) to West Compton turn off (Askerswell).

There are reports of heavy traffic this evening on the A35 between Dorchester and Bridport following a multi-vehicle accident.

The A35 route westbound is closed due to an incident from Long Bredy turn-off (Kingston Russell) to West Compton turn-off (Askerswell).

A spokesperson for Dorset Police commented: "We were called at 2:45pm on Wednesday 14th September to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A35 near to the junction with White Way. Officers in attendance with ambulance. The road is currently closed while emergency services are on the scene."
