Dorchester Art's first performance of the season has sold out.

Tess of the D'Urbervilles will be performed by Hotbuckle at Maumbury Rings on Thursday.

A spokesman for Dorchester Arts said: "We're delighted to be welcoming audiences back and are looking forward to enjoying it with everyone this Thursday.

"Usually, we welcome anyone turning up at Maumbury Rings to buy tickets on the night, but we are operating social distancing between groups of ticket holders this year, so have restricted tickets to ensure that everyone can see and hear clearly once spaced out.

"As this is our first performance of the season, we may find that we are able to welcome greater numbers than we anticipated.

"Existing ticket holders are our top priority, so we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate anyone who chooses to arrive on the night without a booking. We will be asking them to wait until everyone is seated before assessing if there is more space. Please note that should anyone choose to purchase a ticket on the night, they do so at your own risk and we cannot guarantee full sound and visual quality when further away from the stage space."
