Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after damage was caused to a shop window in Dorchester.

It is reported that at around 8:30pm on Saturday 20th August a man threw a chair through a window at Waitrose in Tudor Arcade.

The offender is described as white, aged between 25 and 35 years old and of slim build with a bald head. He was wearing black trousers and no top.

The man subsequently left the area with a woman.

Police Constable Chloe Wellington, of Dorchester police, said: "This mindless act is not acceptable, and we are carrying out enquiries to locate the suspect.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to please get in touch.

"Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man from the description given, or have information to help identify them."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55220136284. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
