A driver who crashed into a wall in Dorchester has sadly died.

Police received a call at 9.14am on Tuesday, August 16 that a black Nissan had crashed into a wall in Celtic Crescent.

The driver, a 58-year-old man from Weymouth, was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment. Very sadly he died in hospital on the afternoon of Saturday, August 20. His family has been informed.

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the traffic unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who died at what must be an incredibly difficult time for them.

"While our enquiries so far indicate the driver is believed to have suffered a medical episode, our investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened remains ongoing.

"I would again urge any witnesses or anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage to please make contact with us."
