Two cars have been destroyed following a fire in Litton Cheney.

One crew from Dorchester joined firefighters from Bridport just after 6.35am on Sunday morning at the car fire in the village.

A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "On route, further information was received that the fire was spreading to another car and starting to affect a house.

"A further appliance was then mobilised from Dorchester Fire Station by fire control.

"Once on scene, crews got to work using two breathing apparatus wearers and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

"Both cars were destroyed by the fire and minimal damage was caused to the home.

"Local authority was also requested to attend to lay sand down due to oil and fuel on the road."
