Here are some of the roadworks planned across Dorchester over the next week:

Higher Charminster, from the ford for around 10 metres, continues to be closed until July 9 to enable Dorset Council to carry out replacement works to the footbridge alongside the ford.

Salisbury Street will be closed from today (Monday) to July 9 to enable scaffolding to go up on the side of San Telmo Fish and Chip shop. The diversion will be via B3150, Icen Way and Durngate Street.

Wessex Water will be working in South Court Avenue today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) and traffic lights may cause delays.

Until July 7, there will be traffic light controls on New Road, from A37 to the junction with Lower Burton, while Jurassic Fibre carry out works. This will also take place from July 6 to 8 on Charminster bypass.

Stop/go boards will be in operation on Station Road, Crossways, on July 7 and 8 for Dorset Council to carry out works.

There will also be traffic lights in Icen Way on July 8 and 9 while Wessex Water carries out work. This may cause delays to traffic.

Wessex Water will be using stop/go boards on Main Street, Martinstown, when it carries out works from July 9 to 12. Traffic lights will remain on Goulds Hill - from Monkton Road Southwards to the sharp right-hand bend - until July 9.

The road from Grimstone Gate to Muckleford will be closed on July 12 and 13 from 9am to 4pm for resurfacing works. A signed diversion route will be in place.

West Stafford Road, West Stafford, will be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm on July 12 and 13. The diversion will be via Highgate Lane and Bockhampton Lane.
