It may not be an Oscar or an International Emmy but the winners in the 2022 Dorchester and Poundbury Business Awards will no doubt be delighted to receive their trophies from someone who has received such accolades - the actor, film director and screenwriter Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey and Gosford Park fame.

Dorset resident Lord Fellowes of West Stafford will be the special presenter at the awards ceremony being held at Dorset Museum in Dorchester on Thursday, April 7

Around 80 of the thriving business community will celebrate all that's good about business in Dorchester and Poundbury and the achievements of the last year or so despite the pressures of Covid.

Organiser Nigel Reeve of Marketing West Events said": "I approached Lord Fellowes a few months ago and he said he would be delighted to take part in the awards ceremony if he was not in America.

"The awards focus on supporting and recognising local businesses that, despite the tough time over the last few years, are flourishing and making Dorchester such a special place for residents and visitors. He was very enthusiastic about that. We really are pleased that Lord Fellowes has found time in his busy schedule, and I am sure all the guests on the day will be too."

The awards have had nearly 280 entries and nominations this year from a wide range of businesses in Dorchester and Poundbury. The awards ceremony is open to all (subject to availability) and will also be live streamed on YouTube – for more information visit www.dandpbusinessawards.co.uk
