Energy help on your doorstep

By Nub News Reporter 16th Jul 2025

THE Citizens Advice Energy bus and its team coordinators will be visiting Poundbury on Wednesday afternoons for a few weeks.

They'll be outside the Dorchester Community Church on Liscombe Street pm-3pm (in September they'll be in the Great Field).

During the sessions there will be two Energy Advisers available to give lighter touch energy advice, explain gas and electricity statements, help a resident to sign up for the Priority Service Register for extra support if an issue with power or water, give carbon monoxide awareness and offer free CO monitors.

If required, a more in-depth energy advice appointment can be given by the Dorset Energy Advice Team, which has a number of energy caseworkers and specialists who can help residents that may be having meter issues, investigate billing problems, help to raise a complaint with the supplier and assist with next steps of contacting the energy ombudsman if it cannot be resolved.

A spokesperson for the team said: ""e are seeing more and more residents struggling to cope with the increased financial burden with rising energy costs this service can only be of benefit within your area. To see the other locations we currently visit please click here."
