Here's why yellow ribbons have been tied around trees in the town

Dorchester Town Council took part in Marie Curie's National Day of Reflection.
Yellow ribbons were tied around some of the trees in the Borough Gardens and from Bowling Alley Green to the Garden of Remembrance in South Walks.
The town council also joined the nation on a minute of silence to reflect on our collective loss, support those who have been bereaved and hope for a brighter future.
Residents were encouraged to create a nationwide 'beacon of remembrance' on their doorsteps by beaming phones, candles and torches into the night sky at 8pm.
A spokesman for Dorchester Town Council said: "Our thoughts are with all those who have suffered bereavement and those who have been affected by the devastating events of the past year."
