Latest Covid figures in Dorset: Confirmed cases decrease across Dorset
Confirmed coronavirus cases in Dorset have continued to fall this week.
Public Health Dorset reports there are 1,933 confirmed cases in the last seven days in the Dorset Council area, compared to 2,656 on February 18, and 2,283 in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council area, compared to 2,966 on February 18.
The seven day case rate per 100,000 for the Dorset Council area is 509.0, compared to 699.3 on February 18, and 575.1 in the BCP Council area, compared to 747.1 on February 18.
There are currently 113 people with Covid-19 in hospital beds in Dorset, compared to 103 on February 18.
A spokesman for Public Health Dorset said: "Confirmed case rates have continued to fall across the county this week, and other data suggests that the percentage of people testing positive in England is continuing to decrease. The ONS COVID-19 Infection Survey suggests in the week ending February 19, 1 in 25 people in England had Covid-19. We have seen an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients in hospital beds in Dorset.
"Although the legal requirement to self-isolate has now ended, the public health advice remains the same. We urge anyone who tests positive or has Covid symptoms to continue to stay at home and avoid contact with other people. This will help to protect other people who may be more vulnerable to the virus."
