PCSOs are feline the community spirit
DORCHESTER Police community support officers have detailed some of their recent work in the town and highlighted an anti-social behaviour initiative.
A socail media post says: "During PCSO patrols on Friday and Saturday evening we have been patrolling known Anti-Social Behaviour hot spots in the Dorchester and Poundbury area including Hawthorn Road Allotments.
"This, it seems is quite a draw to some youths who are using one of the sheds, their presence is sometimes intimidating and invariably there is rubbish left behind.
"We had also been tasked to do some foot patrol at the annual gathering of the Tolpuddle Martyrs Fayre which has been going since 1930s.
"It began as a Sunday afternoon event with wreaths laid on the grave of James Hammett, followed by a procession of banners and speeches. Nowadays it is a weekend-long, family-friendly festival, bursting with topical discussions and lectures from a wide variety of speakers, plenty of music to suit all tastes, food stalls and campaign groups, trade union activities, a delightful children's area, comedy, drama, and much more!
"Whilst at the Festival I tried my hand at flower stamping which was an activity in the Children's area.
"On our shift on Saturday afternoon we also made time to introduced ourselves to the cats in The Cat Café in Antelope Walk, Dorchester."
