Police are appealing for witnesses and information after crash on A35 Puddletown Bypass near Dorchester

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a crash on the A35 near Dorchester.

Dorset Police were called just after 6am on Sunday, March 20 to reports that a black Renault Clio had crashed and found unoccupied partially blocking the road at the Troytown slip road off the A35 near Puddletown.

Officers attended and a 38-year-old man from Trowbridge near Wiltshire was found near to the scene and arrested on suspicion of a driving offence. He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

There are no reports of any serious injuries.

Police Constable Maddie Barber, of Dorchester police, said: "We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicle involved prior to it.

"I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the relevant time who has dashcam fitted to please check their footage for anything relevant."
