Police issue updated appeal for missing teenager in Drchester area
Officers are continuing with their search for a missing teenager near Dorchester – with an additional CCTV image being released.
Alex Bendall, who is also known as Alice and is 18 years old, was reported missing at around 3pm on Sunday, February 12.
Following CCTV enquiries, the last known sighting has been confirmed as being at 7.41pm on Saturday,February 11 in Cornwall Road, Dorchester.
Alex is described as five feet six inches tall, of slim build, with short brown hair and they were last seen wearing a black jacket with a denim body and black fabric sleeves, dark coloured jeans, Dr. Martens boots with a green lace in one boot and purple lace in the other, a bracelet over the cuff on the right arm and carrying a small backpack.
Chief Inspector Danny Thompson, of Dorset Police, said: "Officers have been concentrating on piecing together Alex's movements on Saturday, February 11 by making CCTV enquiries. We have now confirmed that they were last seen at 7.41pm on that Saturday evening in Cornwall Road, Dorchester.
"I am urging anyone who has home CCTV or was driving near or in the area of Cornwall Road and has dashcam fitted to please check their footage for any possible further sightings, which may enable us to follow where Alex may have gone from there.
"We have also been able to obtain another CCTV image a little earlier that evening, which shows clearly what Alex was wearing.
"I would like to renew my appeal to Alex directly – if you see this appeal, please get in touch with us or your family as we all are desperate to ensure you are safe and well.
"Finally, I am very grateful for all the help we have been receiving from everyone in our efforts to find Alex. This also includes the fantastic support from the local community, Charminster Parish Council and the Rapid Relief Team."
Searches have continued throughout the week with assistance from the National Police Air Service, Dorset Search and Rescue, Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Hampshire Search and Rescue, Dorset Search Dogs, Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs and Wessex 4x4.
Alice'sfamily has also made a direct appeal for them to come home, with their mum saying: "Al, we love you with all our hearts, miss you and beg you to come back home – whatever might have happened. We just want to know that you are safe and well.
"If anyone out there has been with Al or knows anything at all, please, please contact Dorset Police."
