Poundbury to celebrate the humble bee
A celebration of the humble bee will be held in Poundbury this weekend.
The annual BeeFest event will be held from 10am to 4pm at The Great Field in Poundbury, and promises to be buzzing with some of the South West's best food, drink and products inspired by our favourite hive-dweller.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness about bees and their importance in our eco-system, as well as providing a full afternoon out for the whole family.
Entry is free and you're welcome to bring along your own picnic to enjoy on the field, or sample some of the food on offer from local producers.
Come along and meet the Weymouth and Dorchester beekeepers and come and take a look around the stalls offering wax rolling, skep making, honey, expert talks, face painting, nature art and more.
Children will also be able to get up close with some creepy crawlies thanks to Bugfest, the South West's original exotic animal experience.
