The Rotary Club of Dorchester Casterbridge will be out in force over the next week, raising funds to provide aid for those affected by the devastating earthquake in Morocco.
Rotarians will be holding street collections in South Street, Dorchester, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 16 and Wednesday, September 20.
On Friday, September 8, at 11pm local time, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck in Morocco, killing more than 2,800 and leaving about 2,500 people injured and thousands displaced from their homes.
The Rotary Club of Dorchester Casterbridge's president, Dave Harris, commented: "All funds raised by the Casterbridge Rotary Club will be donated to ShelterBox. This is a charity was set up in 2000 by a Rotarian, and so we know its credentials.
"Money donated will help ShelterBox provide items such as their boxes which contain everything a family needs to rebuild their lives - a shelter, blankets, water purification system, cooking equipment and tools for rebuilding and planting.
"We know that the last few years have been difficult at home, but if you see our collectors, please give what you can to help."
