A-Plan Insurance study finds that Dorchester is the second easiest place to pass your driving test after Yeovil

Dorchester is the second easiest place to pass your driving test, a study by A-Plan Insurance has found.

The town has a 66 per cent pass rate, coming second to Yeovil, which has a pass rate of 67 per cent and is the easiest place to pass your driving test.

The study by A-Plan Insurance examined the pass rate percentage of major driving test centres in the UK - those that have conducted at least 1,000 tests since April 2020 - to determine the one with the highest pass rate.

Yeovil came out on top with the highest percentage of pass rates out of all test centres in the UK. Of 1,578 tests taken, 1,051 were passed.

Placing second is Dorchester test centre which has assessed 1,559 prospective drivers since April 2020, deeming 1,024 of them ready to drive.

Others in the top ten include:

  • Aberdeen South (Cove) with a pass rate of 65.9 per cent
  • Lee On The Solent with a pass rate of 65.8
  • Blyth with a pass rate of 64.7
  • Durham with a pass rate of 63.2
  • Abergavenny with a pass rate of 62.5
  • Chichester with a pass rate of 62.4
  • Taunton with a pass rate of 62
  • Ipswich with a pass rate of 61.9
A spokesman for A-Plan Insurance said: "Taking a driving test is a landmark moment in anyone's life and can often feel very daunting. It's fascinating to see the considerable difference in success rates between major test centres." Don't forget to sign up to our newsletter below!
