The Prince of Wales School joins global effort to break Guinness World Record on Safer Internet Day

On Safer Internet Day, children from The Prince of Wales School will be joining with hundreds of other schools nationally in an attempt to break an official Guinness World Record.

On Tuesday, February 9 the school will be joining the global effort to break the record for the most pledges received for an internet safety campaign in 24 hours, in association with 2Simple Software and the UK Safer Internet Centre.

Children will be visiting 2Simple.com and 'pledging'. They can add drawings or statements to their pledge and click save.

Headteacher Gary Spracklen is a national leader for the use of technology to support education hopes to encourage other schools in Dorset to take part in Safer Internet Day 2021.

He said: "The aim of Safer Internet Day 2021 is to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly and respectfully."

This year in the UK, Safer Internet Day explores reliability online. The internet has an amazing range of information and opportunities, but how do we separate fact from fiction?

Safer Internet Day will be celebrated globally with the slogan: Together for a better internet.
