Dorset Museum will be reopening its doors to the public on Friday after a multi-million-pound makeover.

Work started in October 2019 and an amazing new museum awaits visitors, with new permanent galleries, a special exhibitions gallery, collections centre, café, shop and more.

We had a sneak peek yesterday and the impressive museum does not disappoint, delving deep into Dorset's history with so much to see, hear and touch.

There are more items on display than ever before and something to inspire and interest everybody, covering art, literature, geology, social history, nature and more.

Dorset Museum is open 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
