Dorchester Arts has announced its 2023 spring season, and there are several reasons why classical music lovers will be jumping for joy in the new year.
On Friday, January 20 the third member of the acclaimed Kanneh-Mason family will perform at Dorchester Corn Exchange.
Jeneba Kanneh-Mason recently made her Proms debut, and those who heard her cellist brother Kanneh, and pianist sister Isata, play in Dorchester will not want to miss Jeneba as she plays Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Beethoven, and Debussy.
Dorchester favourites Tenebrae return on Saturday, February 11 to sing a beautiful programme in the lovely acoustic of St Mary's Church. including pieces by Byrd, Britten and Chilcott.
While audiences were disappointed when the Dorchester Piano Quartet had to cancel their performance in November, they will be thrilled that they are back on Thursday, March 23.
This popular free morning concert will include pieces by Bridge and Walton and will be led from the piano by Dorchester musician Peter Oakes.
Finally, spellbinding violinist Rachel Podger makes her Dorchester debut at St Mary's Church on Thursday, April 20, alongside the acclaimed young Corvus Consort.
These amazing music makers will come together to play and sing a programme by both Johann Michael and Johann Sebastian Bach, a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the best of classical performance.
Dorchester Arts is grateful to Duke's Auctioneers for its support of the Tenebrae and Rachel Podger/Corvus Consort performances this spring.
