DORSET Council say a meeting recording which mysteriously disappeared from the internet – only to re-emerge - was taken down because of a security issue.

The recording of the Audit and Governance committee stopped after less than an hour for those trying to watch the meeting – with a notice popping up to say that the video was now private.

A day later it was back again, missing several minutes, having been edited.

A Council spokesman says that the recording was removed after it was pointed out that information during one discussion, on an IT Audit of the Council, might be of use to a hacker.

That section was removed and the slightly shorter recording returned to the internet on the council's You Tube channel.
