Friday: Fizz Friday at Casterbridge Court
Leading developer and manager of retirement communities, McCarthy Stone, is inviting local retirees to join in with its summer celebrations as part of an exclusive Fizz Friday event hosted at its Casterbridge Court Retirement Living development in Dorchester on Friday, July 21 between 2pm and 4pm.
Get to know the friendly homeowners who have made their home at Casterbridge Court and enjoy a glass (or two) of fizz in the beautiful landscaped gardens.
Saturday: The Steel Band at Brewery Square
Offering a mix of traditional Caribbean music and more upbeat repertoire, visitors can expect innovative steel pan arrangements of well-known songs from the likes of Bob Marley and UB40 - performing at Brewery Square in Dorchester from 12noon on Saturday, July 22.
Saturday: Borough Gardens Summer Sessions
Borough Gardens Summer Sessions offers free live music and events throughout the season, this week with folk punk singer-songwriter Ruff Dog Elliott, performing from 2pm on Saturday, July 22.
Saturday: Choral Evensong
St Peter's Church in Dorchester invite you to its monthly, cathedral-style service of Choral Evensong on Saturday, July 22 at 4.30pm. The music for includes: Duruflé 'Ubi caritas', Seal 'Preces & Responses', Brewer 'Evening Canticles in D' and Rutter 'The Lord is my light and my salvation'. David Beeby is at the organ and Ian Davis directing.
Saturday: Peter Pan
This summer join Slapstick Picnic for a theatrical treat like no other as they whip up a three hander version of JM Barrie's classic play Peter Pan.
Let your imagination soar as we dish out this timeless tale of hapless pirates, feral children and a particularly punctual reptile. This show isn't just for kids, Slapstick Picnic's brilliant buffoonery will have picnickers of all ages cackling into their coleslaw. Trust us, this is one flight of fancy you don't want to miss.
This open air performance will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 6pm at Maumbury Rings.
