POLICE are appealing for witnesses and for dash-cam footage after a crash on the A135 Dorchester by-pass left a woman with life-threatening injuries.

It happened near the Stinsford roundabout around 2.45pm yesterday (Sunday, 2 June) and involved a silver Mazda Bongo camper van and a white DAF gas tanker.

Firefighters freed the woman, in her fifties, from the Mazda before she was taken to hospital.

A statement from Dorset Police says: "We are carrying out enquiries as we seek to establish the full circumstances of this collision.

"There were a number of motorists in the area at the time and we would like hear from any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage, who have not already spoken to police.

"The collision resulted in the closure of a main route for a period of time and we thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during these closures, which were vital to enable us to respond to and investigate this incident.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at https//www.dorset.police.uk, via email at [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240082402.
