Dozens of tractors made their way around Dorchester and the surrounding area for the annual #Willdoes tractor run.

Spectators braved freezing temperatures to line the streets and cheer on the lit up and decorated tractors as they passed through Dewlish, Piddlehinton, Piddletentride, Charlton Down, Charminster, Poundbury, Dorchester town centre, Broadmayne, Warmwell, Crossways and Affpuddle.

Sadly, the event was delayed by an accident on the Old Sherborne Road, near Cerne Abbas, in which one recently-restored vintage tractor was severely damaged when a car reportedly attempted to overtake the convoy of tractors.

A statement from Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 6.33pm on Sunday, December 11 of a collision on the Old Sherborne Road near Cerne Abbas involving a car and a tractor.

"Officers attended and two people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be serious.

"The local authority was notified due to oil on the road and damage to the road surface. The road reopened shortly before 11pm."

Organisers said: "Thank you to all the tractors and spectators that braved the cold to support the charity. Thank you to Bryony and Kian for all their organisation.

"It was such a shame about the accident which caused a big delay, we are just so relieved that everyone is okay.

"Thanks also to the Miller family for hosting the start and finish of the event together with Busy Birds for feeding us and for your donation."

The tractor run is held annually to raise funds for #Willdoes, in memory of William Paddy, who sadly died at the age of 14.

The charity was set up by Will's mother Les to help young people who may be struggling to cope with daily life.

More information on the charity is available at www.willdoes.co.uk
