Dorchester: MP reacts to appointment of Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister

West Dorset MP Chris Loder has welcomed Rishi Sunak as the new Prime Minister.
Mr Sunak was announced as the new PM today as Penny Mordaunt dropped out of the Conservative Party leadership contest.
The former chancellor becomes the UK's first British Asian PM and at 42, the youngest in more than a century.
Following the announcement, MP for West Dorset Chris Loder, said: "I welcome Rishi Sunak as our new Prime Minister. I spoke to him yesterday and made sure Dorset's priorities were firmly on his radar and look forward to seeing him in the House of Commons tomorrow."
As reported this week, Mr Loder said Rishi Sunak was the person best placed to deliver political and economical stability.
