FLOOD measures to protect a home, a new office block for a bespoke joinery company and a new storage area for a local holiday business feature in newly decided planning applications.

Most of the proposals in the rural Dorchester area made to Dorset Council were approved although an application to convert a barn into a home at Cheselbourne was turned down.

P/HOU/2024/03587 : 9 Balmoral Crescent Dorchester DT1 2BN. Erect rear extension and adjust side boundary wall. Granted.

P/FUL/2024/02041 : Unit 1 Hags Play Ltd Holwell Road Kings Stag. Erection of replacement office block. Granted.

P/FUL/2023/05932 : Barn South of Rosehill Lodge Streetway Lane Cheselbourne Dorchester DT2 7QB. Change of use and conversion of an existing redundant agricultural building to Class C3 residential use. Refused.

P/CLP/2024/02490 : Ashton Farm Access To Ashton Farm Martinstown DT2 9HA. Certificate of lawfulness to place solar panels a maximum of 0.4m from the top of the installed panel to ground level. The panels will be sat in tubs with the tubs sat on levelled ground 10m x 8m.. Refused.
