Town restaurant announces sudden closure

A Dorchester restaurant has closed suddenly – the second business to close in the town's Brewery Square in a few weeks – though another is seeking to expand its hours.

It was announced today (Wednesday, 28 August) that the Drgnfly Pan Asian restaurant will cloe with immediate effect. It follows the recent closure of  independent restaurant The Merchant House, which itself stepped in to fill a breach when Luciano's, on the same site, also shut.

But all is not bleak, Dorchester Nub News recently reported that Asian restaurant Wagamama wants to expand its hours.

A spokesperson for Drgnfly said: "It has been decided that Drgnfly Dorchester will sadly cease trading effective immediately, a disappointing outcome to such support we have received from our guests, regular and new.

"We would like to thank you for all those that joined us over the short time that we were in Dorchester, and we hope to return somewhere in the future.

"Our Poole restaurant will be re-opening from the 6th of September with a fresh look and refreshed menu, if you'd like to join us, please email [email protected].

"All deposits made via our booking system have already had refunds initiated and all bookings are now cancelled indefinitely."
