Police call for help as they probe overnight store robbery in Dorchester

POLICE are appealing for information as they investigate a report of a commercial burglary in Dorchester and have made an arrest in connection with the incident.
Officers received a report at 3am yesterday (Monday, 29 December) of a break-in at the Sainsbury's store in Bridport Road, with a suspect reportedly seen making off in the direction of Hawthorne Road.
It was reported that entry had been forced and scratch cards had been stolen from the store.
Officers responded and, following fast-paced enquiries by the local neighbourhood policing team (NPT), a 37-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Police Constable Glen Caddy, of Dorchester NPT, said: "We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has information that might assist our investigation.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam, home CCTV or doorbell camera footage."
