Police will be conducting regular patrols near allotments in the town after neighbours raised concerns of anti-social behaviour.

The Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team will be checking on the wooded area near the Herringston Road allotments.

A spokesman for Dorchester Police said: "This follows reports of anti-social behaviour, including fires being lit within the woodland and late night noise being heard at 1am this past weekend.

"On inspection, there was evidence of a fire and a substantial amount of litter in the area.

"As we move into warmer weather, do you know where your children are?

"Please educate children on the risks and dangers of forest fires."

This comes after Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service announced and amber warning for wildfires across the county, with more than 60 firefighters tackling a heath fire in Wimborne on Monday.
