A CHARITY walk supporting Christian Aid's Libya Floods Appeal yesterday (Saturday, 30 September) proved a success.

The annual eight-mile sponsored walk from St Peter's Church in Dorchester to Bowleaze Cove, in Preston included a picnic lunch for participants.

Phil Stacey, one of the organisers, said the annual event is always enjoyable but is especially poignant this year following the launch of Christian Aid's Libya Floods Appeal and after it was completed, he told Nub News: "The walk went very well and walkers enjoyed the lunch stop in Osmington Churchyard.

"Christian Aid works with people of all faiths and none, supporting communities facing all the challenges of poverty and climate change.

"This help becomes all the more urgent in times of humanitarian disasters, such as the floods in Libya and we are glad we can support Christian Aid in our own way through our sponsored walk."
