Managing Quantity Surveyor

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a highly regarded main contractor in Dorchester. The business works across different sectors including healthcare, education, commercial and care homes with projects valuing up to 70mil. Projects are across the South West.

About the role of Managing Quantity Surveyor:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing a large upcoming scheme which is due to go live in Q1 of 2025. You will be responsible for the financial success of the scheme and will be involved in mentoring your team members who will report into you. The project will run for circa 2 years and will be administered via an NEC form of contract.

Key Responsibilities as Managing Quantity Surveyor:

  • Manage all pre-contract activities
  • Appoint team members and delegate workload appropriately
  • Be involved in front end procurement of sub-contractors
  • Create and present cost forecasts to the Commercial Director
  • Mentor members of team

Key Requirements for this Managing Quantity Surveyor position:

  • Experience managing projects valuing up to 65mil
  • Proven track record of managing projects administered via a mix of JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Have experience managing team members
  • Live in a commutable distance to Dorchester
