CNC Machinist, Weymouth, £27 per hour

Purpose

As a CNC Machinist, you will play a key role in producing precision-engineered components to meet exact customer specifications. Operating in a dynamic manufacturing environment, you will set and operate CNCs, inspect your own work, and contribute to maintaining high-quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills while working with advanced tools and techniques in a highly specialised field.

The company have both day and night shifts available.

Day Shift - £18 per hour

Night Shift - £18 X 1.5 (4 day week)

Responsibilities

As a CNC Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting and operating CNC machines, some equipped with live tooling.

  • Conducting in-process and final inspections using tools such as verniers, micrometers, SPGs, and PPGs.

  • Maintaining total process control through regular inspections.

  • Manufacturing components to customer specifications and quality standards based on engineering drawings.

  • Recording, maintaining, and updating manufacturing process details on job cards.

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance schedules for machines.

  • Keeping the work environment safe, clean, and organized in line with 5S principles.

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this CNC Machinist role, your skills and experience will include:

  • Proficiency in using Fanuc / Heidenheim control systems.

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or a similar high-precision industry (preferred).

  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and job cards.

  • Skilled in setting and operating various machine tools.

  • Strong PC literacy and a methodical approach to work.
