Dorset Sunflower Maize
Maiden Castle Road, Dorchester DT2 9PP
2nd Aug 2021 - 31st Aug 2021
UNTIL Tuesday 31st August

Nothing says summertime quite like Sunflowers!
Their large, bright, unmistakable flowers are believed to signify bountiful and abundant harvest as well as good health! - more welcome than ever as we emerge from the pandemic that has gripped us for the last year or more.
We are excited to offer you a colourful and uplifting, outdoor family fun experience this summer!
Get up close and personal with our beautiful sunflowers, take a relaxing and meandering stroll through the winding trail, cut in to 20 acres of sunflowers, planted in the shadow of Maiden Castle's pre-Roman fortress! Due to reach their perfection in time for the summer holidays - although this does depend on mother nature so we will confirm opening details on our website.
We estimated that the trail will take around 40 minutes to complete and we will also be offering a second, shorter trail with accessibility in mind. This really is an attraction for everyone.
Enjoy a drink and a cake from our 'Café on Wheels', or bring a picnic and enjoy dining alfresco next to one of the largest and most complex Iron Age hillforts in Europe, Maiden Castle.
Enjoy the day with your family…. making memories the old fashioned way, come and celebrate life with us this Summer.
Half of the profits from the Sunflower Trail will be donated to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and the main Dorset County Hospital Charity - a cause very close to our hearts.
