For this year's Heritage Open Days, a whole week of activities is taking place in Dorchester.

'A Taste of Dorchester' will take place from September 12 to 18 with free events in the Borough Gardens, as well as tours and open days across the town and Poundbury.

Here's what will be taking place:

• A Mad Hatter's Tea Party community picnic
• Serving Porridge prison tours
• Talks and cooking demonstrations at the Roman Town House
• Dorset Museum open day
• Keep Military Museum open day
• A slice of Victorian life at Shire Hall Historic Courthouse Museum
• Brewery tours
• Candle rolling, honey and skeps with beekeepers
• Foraging walks
• Wild medicine
• Live music and performance
• Poundbury Community Farm open day
• Tour of the watercress beds at The Watercress Company
• Hollis Mead Organic Dairy - sustainable dairy farming and safe cows
