Crews at Dorchester Fire Station were called out more than 60 times during July.

This was to incidents such as:

  • Road traffic collisions
  • Vehicle fires
  • Helping other agencies
  • Heath fires
  • Standby moves to other stations
  • Alarms
  • False alarms and good intent calls
  • Property fires
  • Hazmat incidents
  • Chimney fires
  • Animal rescues
  • Agricultural fires
  • Other emergency calls

A spokesman for Dorchester Fire Station said: "Whilst we have been out dealing with these incidents, our hard-working colleagues from fire control have mobilised crews from Weymouth Fire Station, Bere Regis Fire Station, Bridport Fire Station and Maiden Newton to standby duties at Dorchester to provide fire cover.

"Whilst at Dorchester, they also attended and dealt with several incidents themselves."
